November 2015 Jewish Holidays Calendar

Jewish holidays actually fall on the same day every year on the Jewish Holidays calendar but do not fall on the same day on the calendar you use. Jewish calendar has a different number days than the calendar you use means Gregorian calendar. This difference is there because The Hebrew or Jewish calendar depends upon the lunar cycle and the Gregorian calendar depends upon the solar cycle. Since Jewish calendar is having 354/355 days in a year while the Gregorian calendar is having 365.1/4 days in a year so Jewish calendar loses about 11days in a year and recover these days by adding a month in every 2 or 3 years actually it is seven times in the 19 years. So that's why Jewish holidays changing dates in your calendar. therefore, there is a need to have a Jewish calendar which tell us the actual dates of Jewish holidays.

It is different from Gregorian calendar because the Gregorian calendar is based upon the solar cycle that's why a Jewish calendar is having 354/355 days and Gregorian calendar is having 365.1/4 days in a year. Therefore the Jewish year is 11 days shorter than the solar year and uses 19 years cycle to bring it into the line of solar cycle. A month is added in every 2 or 3 years in the Jewish calendar to bring it into the line of solar cycle and it is 7 times in 19 years. There is no clock so that a civil clock is used and in which an hour is defined as 1/12 of the time from sunrise to sunset, so during summer an hour can be much more than 60 minutes and during winter an hour can be much less than 60 minutes.
The Jewish week starts in the evening of Saturday and proceed to week end in the evening of Friday, week end is known as Sabbath in Hebrew. There is no special name for week days it is normally day1(Sunday), day2(Monday),.......,day7(Saturday).
