Jewish Calendar November 2015 | Kislev 5776 Calendar

The Hebrew or Jewish calendar works upon the lunar cycle or moon's cycle and determines the dates of Jewish holidays. A Jewish year is approx 254 days long while a solar year is 365.1/4 days long therefore Jewish calendar is having 354 days and Gregorian calendar is having 365.1/4 days in a year. There is a difference in days because the Gregorian calendar does not work upon the lunar cycle it works upon the solar cycle. therefore Jewish year loses 11 days in a year than solar year and recover these days by adding a month in 2 or 3 days really this is 7 times in 19 years.
